The Herbert Wertheim Laboratory for Engineering Excellence, located at the University of Florida in Gainesville, is an 84,000-square-foot facility designed as a hub for engineering innovation and collaboration. Completed to foster interdisciplinary work, it features advanced, high-technology labs, a 50,000-psi water cutter, office spaces and 3-D printers. As part of Grimshaw Architects, AxD’s involvment went from the early stages of design to final completion.
