Walton Center – ASU, Tempe, AZ

The Rob and Melani Walton Center for Planetary Health is a 281,000-square-foot, sustainable research facility at ASU’s Tempe campus (opened 2022). It houses the Global Futures Laboratory and focuses on food, energy, and water solutions. The building features advanced laboratories, a conference center, retail space, a biome-like atrium, and unique “mechanical trees” for carbon capture. AxD’s role (as part of the Grimshaw team) went from Schematic Design to on-site Construction Administration.
